i write exclusively CCCC fanfiction.
what is CCCC?
Chonny's Charming Chaos Compendium, a fan album of tally hall's Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum. the plot is of a man, referred to as Whole by the fandom, splitting into three parts: the Heart, the Mind, and the Soul. these parts of him fight over control to do what they individually believe is best - although Heart and Mind must concede to Soul in the end. throughout the album, these parts of him - predominantly Heart and Mind - fight, and then learn to reconcile. after this reconciliation, though, they split again.
what do you write about it?
awesome things. and by that, i mean fanfiction about them kissing and/or killing + hurting each other. yes, and or. anyhow, it's been years since i've listened to the actual album, and i've written 150k+ words of fanfiction for CCCC, so i have lore and characterization that's completely different from the album - some based on the album's canon, some based on what's based on canon, etc...
but isn't that out of character?
charitably, it's based on canon or inferred from what is based on canon, so canon is somewhere in there. and when it isn't, my characterization fleshes out the characters, instead of diminishing them.
uncharitably, i don't care. it's as out of character as i want it to be. i do this shit for fun.
